Having worked with Institut de beauté for over a year now, I had already learned from the salon staff, beauty journalists and of course the lady herself, that Izzy Jaffer’s facials were pretty renowned. Our MD Sam and I were delighted to then be invited into the Esher-based salon to experience first-hand, the most luxurious facial from Izzy’s portfolio, the La Prairie facial!
About The Salon: Institut de beaute is a luxury beauty salon based in Esher, Surrey, which offers the most advanced treatments and products. The Salon Owner Izzy Jaffer had over 20 years’ experience in the industry and developed the salon with the ethos ‘where science meets beauty’. They offer an array of treatments, with the latest additions of Dr. Vincent’s aesthetic services, Harley Street facials, 3D lash extensions and MedContour Body Sculpting.
The Treatment: After hotfooting it down to Surrey, Sam and I were greeted on arrival with one of Izzy’s ‘green juice’ drinks (special treatment, thanks to her recent trip to the Jason Vale Juice Retreat, which FYI, sounds amazing).
Izzy explained that although we were booked in for La Prairie facials *squeals with delight*, every facial that she carries out differs in accordance to the client’s needs. Fine by me! I like to put my trust in the experts so was more than happy to be led on her product recommendations.
I opted for a slightly more invasive facial, due to suffering from hormonal outbreaks, which included a teeny tiny needle being used on my problem areas.
Izzy cleansed my face using La Prairie Advanced Marine Biology Foaming Mousse Cleanser. An exfoliating 3 minute peel was then used to get rid of any dead skin then the Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask finished off the treatment, which lasted around 90 minutes in total.
Now I’m not sure about you, but I find facials a bit ‘hit n miss’, sometimes you don’t feel like your skin has been thoroughly cleansed and there is little/no improvement and you end up thinking “I could have stayed home and done this myself”. As for the massage element involved in facials, again, you’re lucky to receive a little head massage and can often feel a bit tense afterwards but it’s safe to say, this was truly the best facial I’ve ever had.
Not only was my skin GLOWING afterwards (for days!), Izzy really knew what she was doing with her massage technique. Each and every single knot was ‘untied’, and believe me, there were a lot of them! Not only did she concentrate on my face, but worked through to my head, shoulders, back and arms. Bliss!
On leaving the salon, totally revitalised, Izzy suggested some aftercare products that I should be using on my skin. The products were from the Harley Street Spot.Less range and so far, two weeks later, they have made a huge improvement to my skin.
It makes such a difference when an expert takes the time to only recommend products they know are suitable for your skin, so I’ll definitely be going back for seconds – despite being an hour away from my East London digs, it’s well worth the trip!
